[DESCRIPTION]

George Clymer (1739-1813) was a signer of both the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. He served alongside Benjamin Franklin as a Delegate to the Continental Congress from Pennsylvania. Clymer was an early supporter of complete and total independence from Great Britain.

Clymer also served as the FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE PHILADELPHIA BANK. A role in which he would have been fulfilling at the time of the signing of this note. It is important to note that while this note MATURED in 1814, it was obviously signed before that time, as is the nature of such payments. This is important as the note out-lived Clymer, who died a year earlier in 1813.
