Beautiful Pottery!
Bottom Pot Measures approx. 13 1/2\" L X 9 1/4\" W X 3 1/4\" D
With lid on it measures 14\" L X 10 1/2\" W X 6\" D
This pot/dish has a unique pattern unlike anything I could find in research.
Beautiful vivid colors of blue, off-white, & black
Base Material is red clay.
You can tell the item has been hand made/ hand sculpted. In fact, the lid doesn\'t fit on quite right but it\'s because of the way it was hand made.
Hand Painted with a unique pattern
Good Condition!
Some small chips around the edges and the bottom but nothing major.
No cracks or breaks.
It\'s Heavy ~ Weighs 6 lbs by itself.
We don\'t really know anything about the origin or age of this dish. We picked it up at an estate sale. For all we know it could be a museum piece. It could be Mexican but the design is very different from the usual Mexican designs. It could possibly be Peruvian, Indian, etc. Not sure.
We were told it\'s pretty old but haven\'t been able to find anything like it on or the Internet. It doesn\'t look like your typical Mexican pottery from Mexico. Your guess is as good as ours but it\'s beautiful.
