Description -A solid sterling silver christening mug by Josiah Williams & Co.Dated for 1877 and assay for Exeter.A splendid Queen Victorian era christening mug which comes with a cylindrical shaped body, stands a circular stepped base and has a \"C\" shaped handle.The christening mug is beautifully engraved with ferns to the body and comes with an engraved cartouche to the front with engraved \'DMH\' initials.Exeter is a very rare assay hallmark as they closed there doors in 1883.A superb christening mug which would be a superb addition to a collection.
Silver Weight 159 Grams.
The condition is excellent.There are no dents, dings, holes, splits, knocks or repairs to the body.The top rim and bottom are not out off shape in anyway and stands perfectly well with no issues.No damage or repairs to the handle.The hallmarks are very clear for there age just the makers mark is a little rubbed from polishing.The interior of the mug is very clean.The christening mug holds up to half a pint with no leaks.Overall an outstanding christening mug which would be a splendid addition to a collection.
