Description: In 1889, Albert L. Burt decided to sell affordable literary classics of the day. He officially began publishing as A.L. Burt Company which was fully incorporated in 1902 and published numerous reprint series until the company was sold in 1937. The Egotist is a selection from Burt\'s Pocket Edition of Standard Classics which included 150 titles from carefully selected writers of the most notable English, American and Foreign fiction. This balloon-cloth hardcover version was a sturdier option to the faux-leather editions and was the last version of the series to be printed in the 1930s.

Condition: This hard-to-find hardcover book is in good to very good condition. The hardcover is in excellent condition with minimal wear (see pictures). The inside pages are in very good condition with no writing, no tearing, no creasing, and no bent corners. No pages are loose or missing. The binding is tight. There is a black top stain. Note: the pages have tanned slightly with aging.
