RARE VINTAGE ORIGINAL 1940s PONTIAC AUTHORIZED SERVICE 42” PORCELAIN METAL SIGN:

For your consideration is an extremely rare vintage original “Pontiac Authorized Service” round porcelain coated 42” dealership exterior metal sign, with classic red Pontiac Indian head profile. The approximately 70 year old single sided porcelain coated metal sign has fantastic aged patina. It shows its age well with the typical chipped and surface rusted areas, mostly at the outer edges, and mounting holes. The original porcelain colored coating in red, white, and dark bluecolors is bright, shiny, and smooth.

As you can see in the photos, the sign has some nice tan weathered coloring from being displayed outside at a small family owned local Pontiac dealer in Red Bank, N.J. that was founded in 1930 and recently closed its doors after 83 years of fine service. The exact age is unknown, but the sign is assumed to be from the 1940s or 1950s. There are no other markings or identifying marks observed on either the front or plain backside of the sign.

This great looking vintage porcelain metal sign would be a great addition to your collection as is, or would work well with any existing or planned General Motors, Pontiac, Oakland, or vintage car display. It would also be an excellent Father’s Day, Man Cave, or Garage Decorgift for any Pontiac, advertising, or automotive memorabilia enthusiast!
