This listing is for a vintage Sterling Silver Ekeko, god of abundance and prosperity who in a number of South American countries, as well as other places, is felt to bring blessings to the home he lives in. He\'s a delightful little peddler carrying with him all kinds of wares such as cooking utensils, tools, guitars, pan flutes, and other items. He even carries on his back a wonderful little house. Most of the charms and trinkets he carries are movable.

The base is stamped but hard to read. I believe it is his .950 silver stamp. He stands 1 3/4\" tall and the base is 7/8\" by 5/8\" and weighs 1.2 ounces.

\"Today, people celebrate the Ekeko as the god of abundance in a yearly festival in La Paz that begins on the 24th of January calledAlasitas. This festival is also celebrated in other regions of the country, such as Santa Cruz, where it takes place in September or October.
