Up for sale from our personal collection is this small, sweet and RARE 8\" hand thrown Bauer pottery oil jar and it has been questioned, who was the thrower, Matt Carlton, Fred Johnson or somebody else at the plant one?... and also was this a salemen\'s sample, because of the same shape than #129 oil jars?... Regardless who threw it, it is a beauty and in EXCELLENT condition, like new, except for one shallow paint chip on the donut, as shown on pic. #4, no other issues nor repairs noted. No makers mark, but sample can be found in \"Collector\'s Encyclopedia of Bauer Pottery\" on page # 91. The last photo shows how truly little this oil jat is comparing Bauer\'s other jars, 20\", 16\" and 12\". This is a must for any California Pottery collection, not just Bauer..
