RARE Vintage Harwood Blancpain FIRST AUTOMATIC WATCH Silver Unisex Swiss 1920\'s:
$739.74
A beautifully original dial, French market \'Fab Suisse\' signed Harwood self-winding wristwatch. This was THE FIRST AUTOMATIC watch made in the world, and an invention by John Harwood from the Isle of Man. This is a 1920\'s watch, and is in excellent condition for its period.
To set the time: you turn the bezel clockwise until the hands move; turn anti-clockwise until the tiny window above 6 o\'clock fills up with red, and that\'s the safety lock.(It was never designed with a crown.
An important part of horological history, and a rare co-signed movement with Blancpain. Original (Swiss)patent number on the movement. The watch is working. A small 30mm, with wide 18mm \'wire lugs\' to give it more presence, as you can see!
Thanks.
