RARE Vintage Mid-Century Modern Russel Wright Humidor Cake Sandwich :

After years in storage, this signed, spun aluminum Russel Wright covered humidor is available for collectors of Mid-Century modern. The base measures 12 1/2\" in diameter and stands 7 1/2\" high. \"Russel Wright\" is etched into the base. If you\'re not familiar with Russel Wright\'s designs, there is plenty of information on him on the internet. He is truly a giant of Mid-Century design, having created stunning housewares and accessories that are very much in demand today. These spun aluminum pieces are far more rare and difficult to find than his ceramic work. The humidor is in very nice condition, given its age. The way it works (I think, feel free to correct me if this is wrong) is the light-colored disk inside the lid needs to be soaked in water prior to covering a cake or sandwiches, so it produces enough humidity to keep the food from drying out. The disk has some discoloration, and there is a small discolored area on the base of the humidor, best seen in the 7th and 8th photos. It may be something that could be cleaned, but I try to leave these vintage pieces as close to original condition as possible. If you have questions or would like to see more photos, please email me.
