Up for sale is a beautiful Jade Satin Gold Encrusted Cambridge Glass Cheese / Cracker Tray circa 1930 in excellent to near mint condition.

Tray measures approximately 6-1/2\" wide by 10-1/4\" long and 3/4\" deep. This elegant Jade-colored tray comes from Cambridge\'s Satin Finish line which was acid-treated to give the bottom a satin finish exterior while retaining the ability to havea shiny glass surface on the top.

Introduced by Cambridge in February 1930, the tray islavishly etched and encrusted with 22K gold with Cambridge\'s floral etch pattern #719 sometimes referred to as the Du Barry pattern. The plumes, flowers, and chintz, that are part of this pattern is simply divine. (See pix.) The underside of the tray features acut radiating sunburst pattern that adds interest and depth to the piece.

This stunning tray is actually one part of a two-piece set which was used to elegantly serve cheese and crackersback in the 1930s. Please note the cheese bowl is NOT included in this lot. However,there\'s no question that all on its own thisis a fabulous and very rare and sought-after Cambridge Glass piece is a real show-stopper and of course, is perfectly functional.

Tray is in excellent to near mint condition. Upon close inspection, there is some very minor gold loss around the rim, a black fleabite-sized dot in the center of the tray, andtiny bit of roughness in one area on theshiny side whichmay actually have been created bysomewayward fragments that werepart of the etching processthat weren\'t swept away. Regardless, it\'san incredibly beautiful piece that easily would take pride of place in any Cambridge orElegant Glass collection. (See pix.)
