This attachment is very hard to find, and fun for the collector and the sewer.The item featured in this sale is the hard-to-find presser foot for fine hemming. According to Singer, this foot \"is designed to make a 1/16 inch hem. The flange and scroll of this special Hemmer control the most delicate fabrics, forming very fine hems, suitable for chiffon, sheer nylons, organdy and thin cottons. Bias edges can be hemmed with ease.\" This foot is made for the slant needle machines, such as the 401, 403, 500, 503, and many others, as well as the beloved Model 301.I consider this attachment to be in good to very good used condition, with very little sign of use, age or wear. It is stamped on the inside of the shank with its part number 160753 and \"SIMANCO U.S.A.\" and the fraction 1/16 is stamped on the top of the foot surface. This item is suitable for display or use. I\'ll be providing 2 pages from the 1960 Singer textbook for Home Ec teachers, Machine Sewing, to show you how to get started with your \"new\" foot. I\'m sure it will take a bit of practice, but should be a fun addition to your collection for your vintage slant needle Singer sewing machine.
