Thisnice WitherbySquare Edge SocketChisel isa harder to find 7/16-inch widthanda 12inches infull original length.The 1/16th inch sizes were\"special order\" and as such not often found. Witherby chisels rate Rockwell Hardness Rc 61-62 Excellent Temper for regular use on hardwoods and softwoods with great edge holding ability.

Thehardwood handle is inexcellent condition with expected light signs of age and use and full lacquer finish remaining.The steelbladehastypical light signs of age and use, a clean flattened bottom,and a shiny sharp edge ready toput to work. It has rare double markings of thedistinctive \"TH Witherby\" logostamped in the steel on top, and \"Winstead Edge Tool Works\" stamped on the bottom.It came in a large group ofsuper British,American and other maker wood chisels I acquired from a working wood shop that I am listing in the coming months.A solid Wood Chiselmade from fine steelfor serious wood working.
