RARE!! GERMAN Old Stoneware Planter on pedestal

This is a nice oldsalt glaze stoneware jardiniere with pedestal

It is a very large unusual piece , 110cm height totally with pedestal , diameter top planter is 38 cm

circa 1880

The jardiniere has a man\'s face on one side and a woman\'s face on the reverse side.

There are gargoyle type faces as handles

The pedestal is like a plant stand with gorgeous decoration

The pedestal is made in two pieces andcemented with concrete at the base of the column so a pretty heavy solid piece, even despite the crack still very solid

You can see the crack/ repair in the photos

There are also several chips off the 3-dimensional leaves as you can see from thephotos

This is avery rare piece

It is stoneware with cobalt decoration and is made like the beer steins with the same look.

Definitely a one of a kind piece
