This is a phenomenal antique print that isover 270 years old (1730s). It depicts two Sufi Dervish (Darvesh) musicians. THe one on the left is playing a long pipe, called a ney (nai, nye, nay, gagri tuiduk, or karghy tuiduk). The one on the right has a Kudüm drum (making him a kudümzen). These are two of the four main instruments in Mevlevi music. They are probably part of the Mawlaw\'iyya / Mevlevi Order, or the Mevlevilik / Mevleviye, a Sufi order founded in Konya (in present-day Turkey) by the followers of Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi, a 13th-century Persian poet, Islamic jurist, and theologian. They are also known as the Whirling Dervishes due to their famous practice of whirling as a form of dhikr (remembrance of God).

The print is a high quality antique copperengraving. You can clearly see the platemark. The detail is amazing. Extremely rare.

It is hard to scan a fine engraving like this, but under a magnifying glass, you\'ll see amazing crisp fine engraved lines. You can see the impression of the plate mark. The paper is thick and of high quality so it holds the details well. See scan for a better idea of the condition.

The print measuresapprox.4.75 x7.8 inches, and theactual image size (without margins) is approx.3.7 x5.5inches.

This is GENUINE antique/vintage item. It is not a modern reproduction.
