This sleek and timeless Persian cat was originally created by Boston sculptor Richard Recchia in 1931. The abstract form received a bit of criticism when it was first exhibited, since Recchia was one of the first artists to introduce abstract sculpture to the Boston art community. The beautiful cat eventually won over the critics and is now considered part of Boston art history. the original one was 19 inches tall made of bronze with a black patina. This is a replica of the original one made out of ceramic with the same black matte finish.It measures 12 inches tall and has MFA on the base.
