As achild he appeared in filmsduring the early 1930s, such as Lewis Milestone\'s All Quiet on theWestern Front (1930)and Chaplin\'s City Lights (1931). As a film editor, he won an Academy Award for RobertRossen\'s Body and Soul (1947) and a film editing Academy Award nomination for All the King\'s Men (1949).
