This is a beautiful vintage 1920s-30s period Art Deco lamp made by the Art Metal Works (Ronson). There is a nude dancer wearing a pleated skirt holding a ball shade. The dancer has a gilded bronze finish over what is most likely aspelter base. The gold plating is wearing to the bronze color, but not to thespelter. The base has an unusual faux marble painted finish,which is in very good condition. The lamp has a heavy molded clear glass shade with vertical bands of swags. It is not the original shade, but it is a vintage shade... I think it complements the lamp and goes perfectly with thepleated draped fabric of her skirt. The lamp has been rewired with reproduction gold cloth covered wire. There is a pullchain for turning on and off the light. I put a small low watt bulbinside and it looksgorgeous lit. I took a photo with the lamp on, with a flash and without so you can see howbeautiful it glows. The lamp measure 13 1/2\" long, 4 3/4\" wide, 8 3/4\" to the top rim of where the shade rests, and 14\" tall to the top of the shade. The rim of the shade rest is marked \"UNO Pat Dec 24, 12\". I could not find this particular example of this Ronson lamp online. This one has a pull chain switch and it has a faux painted base. Theothers I found have a push switch on the base and not this type of shade holder. The shade has a very tiny chip/flake on one of the little swags, but it is not noticeable at all. The lamp weighs a heavy 10.1 pounds.You will love this! It is gorgeous.
