Tsunemasa was a Samurai and one of Japan\'s first and foremost botanists,
his catalogue first appeared periodically as manuscripts;
this print is the result of a later attempt to compile these as woodcuts these for a wider audience.Excellent Woodcut Print with clear bleed-through.
The forerunner of the other late 19th Century \'realist\' artists:
Kono Bairei Keiko Hasegawa, Watanabe Seitei, Etc.
A seperate sheet that has never been framed.
Series edited by Shirai and printed in Japan.
These unique artworks were made using the original traditional woodcut techniques;
Carving the blocks, Washi paper, Inks and Baren work.
They are masterful examples of woodblock Art.
