Norman Rockwell\'s THE TOY MAKER

Being offered on this sale is Avant-Garde vase made by Rosenthal China, Selb, Bavaria, Germany. It is of famous now German Op-Art line. Acknowledged artist Johan van Loon designed this vase. Rosenthal catalog describes him as “one of the most meant Dutch ceramics artists of the 20th century”. He worked for Rosenthal since 1980. He was originally trained as textile and fashion designer. This is probably the reason of his open boundaries in ceramic forms. This vase resembles a middle part of fish with its head and tale cut off. This is Rosenthal form 4039. Vase is marked on the backside with standard Rosenthal Studio-Line, Germany mark in green. There are artist signature and name printed on the backside. Other marking is incised 4039/22.

Vase measures about 3 ½” x 5 ½” and stands 8 ¾” tall. Condition is immaculate with no cracks or chips found. It looks splendid. Please take a look at the pictures to find out more about this piece of the art.
