This is a Royal Copenhagen pair of lambs which measures 2 1/4 inches high x 4 inches long and it was made in 1953. These sleeping lambs were designed by Knud Kyhn ( 1880 - 1969 ) who worked for Royal Copenhagen and during his long career he sculpted numerous stoneware and glazed animals such as this pair of lambs. On the base you can see the Royal Copenhagen round trademark in green; the blue waves mark together with the model number 2769 below. There is also a small bar under the letter \"A\" in the word Royal which indicates that this piece was made in 1953. This piece has been well modelled - one lamb has its head down and the other is behind with his head resting on his brother\'s back. The condition is good with no chips, cracks, damage or restoration and there are no scratches or loss to the glazed surface. This out of production Royal Copenhagen pair of sleeping lambs, designed by Knud Kyhn and made in 1953, would make an ideal gift or a great addition to any collection.
