ITEM DESCRIPTION: Alexander II, 1855-1881. Russian bronze table medal. 100th Anniversary of the St.George Order, 1869. By V. Alexeev and P. Mescheryakov.

O.: Conjoined busts of Catherine II and Alexandr II wearing uniform left. Signed В. Алексеевь Р. (cut by Alexeev) on truncation.

R.: For Service and Bravery. 1769 - 26 November - 1869. Cross of the St.George Order. initials П.М.Р. (cut by P. Mescheryakov) at bottom. R0 in Diakov, 71.27 mm; 158.62 g. Diakov 760.1.

Condition: overall VF with some graffities on both sides and a punch hole on top.

Prices in the West for this medal in good condition start at around $500. I have seen an sale in Russia where this medal was offered at $2,800. Just because of the hole and scratches, I start the acution at $285.
