This 1/4 plate tintype shows an Armed Confederate Officer. He reminds us of General Hood and indeed his uniform may well be an example of one worn by the Texas Brigade. Beautiful tinting. The bottom of the plate has embossed words that probably identify it as a Melainotype. We can not make out the words. More research is needed. All questions or comments are welcome.
