This wonderfulOld piece has a Great, Vintage look, with Beautiful Handwriting and the signatures of applicant Joseph W. Simonds & several post officers, measures approx. 8.5\" x 14\",is an Original, Vintage example, from the Victorian era,and Rare to Find. This shows that Simonds, a Baldwinville, MA mechanic, served in the 11th Vermont Volunteers.
GAR: The Grand Army of The Republic was a fraternal organization for Union Civil War veterans, and these come from the archives of Ericsson Post No. 109 of East Templeton, MA.I will be listing several items from their archives today.
