Recently purchased in a large, private doll collection
This is a rare composition Jeannie Walker doll made by Madame Alexander in 1943
She is 18" tall and marked on her back Alexander Doll Co. Pat. No. 2171281
Jeannie Walker is an all composition doll with a very unique wooden walker mechanism in her crotch, a revolutionary design original to Madame Alexander and never copied on any doll since
Her composition has not been restored and is in excellent condition with only very light surface crazing and no lifting, cracking, peeling or other major damage; no chipped fingers or toes and her sleep eyes are clear and open and close without assistance (she is missing a few lashes on one eye)
This doll has an original mohair wig and is still nicely strung, posing well without looseness, and comes dressed in a vintage pink organdy dress (yellowed and a bit worn), which I don't think is original (it is untagged) and newer shoes and undies with vintage socks
Jeannie Walker is fresh and clean, with no must, dust, mold, mildew, stains or smells

This is a very hard to find doll and came from the home of an advanced doll collector in her 80s who took meticulous care of her dolls
She is fresh, clean, odor-free and comes from a smoke-free home
