Very nice American cavalry Officer\'s saber dating from around the Civil war poriod or slightly earlier, having a fine presentation quality blade of German manufacture, retaining its original mirrored polish with occasional scattered light patina and fine gold gilt etched decorations, lower blade with finely etched marketer\'s name and import indication. Brass hilt mounts with original leather over wood grip showing expected wear and original wire intact. All completely solid and with original iron scabbard, hallmarked at the drag and showing nice dark patina.
