For sale is an open salt dish made by Fürstenberg around 1780. This master salt has a small medallion in the front that is hand painted with a harbor scene, is has a nicely painted floral arrangement in the bottom of the bowl and a flower and two bugs on top. Nice garland all around and lots more detail all over. A good quality and rare piece for sure. I have seen these sold as Limbach and attributed to the top German maker in books like \"The Open Salt Compendium\" by Jzyk & Robertson . The piece is in perfect condition with a firing crack in the garland by the fly probably where the ends were originally fused during the making. A bit of gold wear as well. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords with the star mark copied from the top German maker\'s mark but used by Furstenberg quite a bit as well.
