We are pleased to offer for sale a vintage andtruly RARE, 1930’s, first original Ramp Walkercalled “Winnie Walker”. This doll wonprominence at the 1933 World’s Fair in Chicago. She is also the doll that inspired the Walker line of dolls being made today under the Madam Alexander name as \"walking dolls\". According the information online, this is the original ramp walker, before the Wilson wooden walkersthat you see today. Because of the incredibly fragile material andconstruction, very few of these dolls ever survived. Even rarer to find one inthis incredible condition. The doll’s head, arms, and torso are thin celluloidwith a crepe paper dress laid on a thick paper cone-shaped piece underneath. Her face should clean up with a moist q tip.There is a metal mechanism with the string on a spool which comes up and outthe dolls back. I don’t believe the rubber band is original, but I am ignorantof the exact means of making the doll walk. You can see where she still hasjust the stub of the original paperbanner that would have said, “Winniewalks when we walk her”. She stands about6” tall and just over 3” wide at the base. There is a small dimple on the top of her head as shown in last photo.

We do not charge for packing, boxes, or our time in getting the itemto you through the post office.
