Ben Shillingford (1904-2000) worked for Dunhill in the 1950’s and perfected the art of carving and painting lucite panels to resemble miniature aquariums, these panels were then applied to the lighter bodies in four sections. Upon his retirement, his workmanship could not be equalled, and the skills necessary to continue to manufacture the aquarium lightercouldn't be found, hence production ceased. Today these exquisite aquarium lighters have become highly prized, collected andrevered throughout the world. Measures 57mm wide x 71mm high and 32mm deep, We have left in original condition, unrestored just as you wish to find them, Lucite could do with a light polish, a few light scratches, nothing major. Needs fuel and a new flint. Super collectable and rarer size!
