The life and reign King Frederik IX of Denmark is the subject of this 1972 Royal Copenhagen Commemorative Plate, featuring his Crowned royal monogram of a stylized F and R (Frederik IX Rex), with the dates of his reign 1947 and 1972 (marking his Silver Jubilee -- 25th year on the throne), all enclosed in a wreath of oak leaves (symbols of long life and strength).

The design is embossed on fine Danish porcelain and hand painted in traditional Copenhagen blue under the glaze. Diameter just over 7 inches (18 cm). Pierced foot for hanging wire. Appropriately marked on the back, including the three wavy line trademark of Royal Copenhagen.
