For sale is a very unique piece of 1970s superman comic book art history!!
Available is what appears to be a custom-done variant cover art for superman #287!!
The art of superman appears to be style of Neal Adams. The little boy drawing on superman\'s shoulder was done by the infamous Carmine INFANTINO
It was brought to my attention that the artist for superman in this issue was done by dick giordano
Also someone mentioned this may be colored photostat as opposed to original art
On the back is a letter of provenance by carmine INFANTINO to a gentleman named Nat, who is the father of Andrew. In the letter, INFANTINO is telling Nat that he has finally done the drawing of Andrew that he promised him, apologizing for the delay that the delay was simply unavoidable.
Based on the content of the letter, it appears that Carmine knew Nat on a personal level based on the dialogue!
As shown in the puctures, carmine signed the letter at the end!!
This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece!!

Dimensions of the image itself is approx. 9\" x 14\"
Based on the letter, the boy was drawn by INFANTINO. As far as the rest of the cover, it looks like original art to me, but I\'m not 100% an expert.
