For yourconsiderationis a rare high quality19th Century octagonal shaped pottery console bowl or charger decorated with enameled cornucopias and floral bouquetson the topand butterflies on the sides. As you can seefrom the images, the top edges are decorated with some form of gold gilt. All of these decorated pieces are of high quality and are very thick. We had an expert opinion date the piece mid 19th century, but cannot guarantee this information is correct. So we will leave it up to the experts to decide. In my non expert opinion I cannot see it being any later than early 20th century. I welcome all questions and would especially appreciate any sharing of knowledgeable opinions.

Theconsole bowl or charger (not sure if I have either of these right), measures approximately 11\" wide and 2-1/2\" tall and weighs a little over four pounds unpacked. The artist\'s signature appears on thebottom and is difficult to read; initials are H. D., but the last name is difficult to read particularly the last tow letters - could beDunstax, Dunstay, Dunstoy, etc. Please see the images in the gallery.

As for condition: It has a good amount of dark crazing. On the very bottom edge where the bowl sits on the table, there is a small chip. Again, see the image of the bottom of the bowl in the image gallery. All the enameling and gold gilt is still intact.
