A rare 19th C. miniature painted horse pull toy with an unusual flower painted base, C. 1860-1880. This horse is all hand carved, most likely New England. The decoration is incredible & quite similar to miniature decorated sleds from the same period. This is the first horse pull toy that I have seen with such a decoration. It is in wonderful condition for its age, given it was a child\'s toy there is some paint loss & wear. The horse still has some of its real horse hair mane & much of its tail. It has a minor repaired break on the back left leg, but no other damages or repairs. The surface is excellent, completely untouched with a wonderful patina. This early horse pull toy measures 9\" long, just under 2\" thick & stands 9 1/4\" without the base, with the base it stands 11 1/4\" tall. The base itself measures 10\" long by 2 7/8\" wide & stands 2\" tall. A very rare piece of early Americana, offered with .
