A very rare and attractive Carr & Co. of Carlisle biscuit tin wasshown in the 1892-3 Christmas catalogue. All four sides and the lid have scenesfrom a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale partly embossed, which give thepictures depth. The tin is in good condition, withworking hinges, good closure and a clean interior and base. The sides have little damage but there is some rubbing and light scratches to the lid and one small scratchon one short side. The colors have faded a little over 120 plus years but the tin is still in overall good condition. There areno dings or dents and the tin is not out of shape. The tin measures about 4 1/2\" wide by 3 1/4\" deep and 6 inches tall.

This tin has been started at a reasonable starting price without reserve. This and several other old and unusual tins and other unique items were received from the estate of an antique dealer. We will be listing many of these items in the future. See the last photo for some of the items from this estate. Texas residents to pay 8 1/4 % sales tax or provide exemption information.

Additional condition issues of note:

· Generalized patina, some noticeable antique wear.

· Small worn spot on lid, lid edges worn, small ripple dent on lid lip.

· Some early rust starting here and there.

· Dark patina inside with more noticeable rust here.

· Bottom dark with patina, some surface rust here, too.

· Open/close needs a little coaxing.

Approximate size of tin is about 7 3/8” by 4.25” by about 2 1/8” tall.

The tin is empty.
