For sale isa nice set of eight scenic plates made by one of the Paris makers in the early 19th century. Each is handpainted with a good quality landscape scene in the center including buildings or ruins and in one case a stag in a landscape. The rim has a nice orangey ground color to it with some gold rings as trim. The scenes are in the typical Paris fashion and quite nice. The plates are in great condition with almost no wear which is unusual and the salmon colored rim looks elegant when on display! No chips, etc. just a minor factory flaw here and there. As is the norm the piece is unmarked except for some have incised letters.
