Rare ANTIQUE CONTA & BOEHME Victorian China FAIRING :
$750.00

This rare antique CONTA BOEHME fairing, entitled COME AWAY THESE FLOWERS DONT SMELL VERY GOOD was made in Possneck, Germany and dates back to 1860. Amuzing mottos such as this one were characteristic of these early German solid paste porcelains. The base has a continuous ridge and the early markings in its base shows it is an early example of a German made fairing. One like it is pictured in the publication \'Victorian China Fairing\'s by Derek H. Jordan on page 54.
It was purchased at the Naples Antique Show in 1992 from a very reputable dealer from New Hampshire and that was 25 years ago. It has a scene on the back as well as on the front. All markings are photographed. It measures 3 1/2\" high and approximately 3\" wide. It was lovingly cared for and properly displayed all these years in a china cabinet. If you are knowlegable about antique fairings you will appreciate its rarity and beauty. Shipping includes insurance for full value. Price is what was paid for it in 1992.
