This is a BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE ENGLISH OAK \"PUB TABLE\" from the early 20th Century. It is VERY TRADITIONAL in its design and construction, and many tables of this type with matching chairs were manufactured by English craftsman for use in the home, and more often in the many pubs throughout England, where they were often found. The natural RICH BROWN COLOR of this piece, owes its character to the solid English Oak from which it was constructed. This wood is also the source of its durability and longevity. The table base will require simple re-gluing of the corner joints of its framework before it can be put to heavy use. The table top itself is in very good and tight condition however.My wife and I, together with our two children, have enjoyed this charming table and chair set for over forty years while living in Portland Oregon, where our children were born and grew into adults. It has been part of our family for quite a long time, but now as we are getting along in years, and the children have left to make lives of their own, we would like nothing better than to pass on our good fortune to another appreciative family, who can continue to enjoy the pleasure of its charm and beauty.
