RARE ASPREY \'HIDDEN CLASP\' SILVER CIGARETTE CASE. SPRING-LOADED HINGE. GOLD CREST.

A large early 20th-century (1929) solid sterling silver cigarette case, made by the luxury silversmiths Asprey & Co Ltd.

Decorated with high qualitydense engine-turned patterns throughout the front and back.

The case is opened by sliding the Asprey patented and hallmarked hinge. The hinge is spring loaded so that the lid pops open when the lid is slided in the horizontal direction.

The interior is clean. Fully hallmarked (in 3 places).

The case is free from personal inscriptions. There is a lovely raised gold lion crest on the front.

A superb and rare, genuine Asprey slide-action silver cigarette case.
