For Sale: An extremely rare Alpina adding machine in excellent condition.
The mechanism operates smoothly. The crank turns and numbers move.
The cream & gray plastic exterior & color are excellent.
The red velvet original case with silver and gray exterior is also in very good condition.
Also comes with the original type card with serial number on it.Some History:The Alpina was produced by the Alpina typewriter company in Germany in 1960/61 & revived briefly in 1971.
It has a space age design and was the last 4 function mechanical calculator to be designed over a period of 340 years.
It was designed to compete with the Curta but was unsuccessful. The Curta was mass produced for many years, but there were only a few Alpina adding machine’s made(about 5000).
The machine has almost a mythical status today, perhaps because of its rarity, or perhaps because of its connection to the BMW Alpina.It\'s very rare to find one of these especially in this condition - be sure to grab this one for your collection!!
