This unusual Semi Mechanical Butter or Caviar Dish was made

by Meriden Silver Company New York in the mid 19th Century

Constructed of Britannia Metal and Brass, standing on 4 nicely crafted with flowers embossed Feet

The dome can be lifted and hangs in its own ornate bracket

Complete with inner base dish, the starburst frosted glass liner is a replacement I added to this piece

Embossed floral banding all around the middle

In as found Uncleaned condition to preserve beautiful patina

Fully stamped for Meriden Silver Company New York

Dimensions: 33cm in height and 15cm in diameter
