Rare Antique Art Nouveau German Silver Pansy Flower Charm Engraved Detail

This is an exceptionally rare and beautiful antique charm from the Art Nouveau period which depicts an enameled pansy flower with variegated color. The enamel is in superb condition for its age, the colors remain vivid. The enameling process for these charms is intricate. First, the design is etched into the silver. White enamel is then applied within the troughs and baked until hardened. Then, the design is hand-painted by an artisan. A clear glaze is applied over the painted design for protection and baked again until hardened.

The pansy flower is a symbol of remembrance (think of me). The name is derived from the French word \"pense,\" which means \"think.\"

The charm measures 3/4\" in diameter, and weighs 2.3 grams. It is stamped with a maker\'s mark \"KK\" and import mark. The silver is at least .800 grade. Charms such as this one and the enameled rose charm I have listed are very hard to find, and are simply stunning on a charm bracelet.

Shipping Terms

Your vintage / antique charm (s) will be shipped within 24 hours (with the exception of weekends and holidays) of your processed payment. For items totaling $50 or more, insurance will be added free of charge for domestic purchases.

For sales ending on Saturday or Sunday, your charm (s) will be shipped the following Monday.

For international purchases totaling up to $100, the shipping charge will be $22.95. For international purchases totaling more than $100, the shipping charge will be $43 for Canadian buyers and $48 for all other international buyers. This Express Mail service will require a signature upon receipt.

Please allow approximately four to six business days for delivery of domestic items. Arkansas residents must pay 6.5%, plus applicable local county tax. International buyers, please bear in mind that you\'ll be responsible for your country\'s duty/vat fee. Please research the fee before making a purchase. This fee is non-refundable.
