RARE Antique Blue Stoneware Ceramic Washboard Rockingham Pottery Wood Primitive:

This is a TREMENDOUS old antique Benningham/Rockingham ceramic pottery plate, board or \"tile\" and wood or wooden wash board or washboard frame. The scrubbing tile slab or piece is yellow ware with a dark blue or bluish black mottled of spongeware type finish. The tile is textured with a raised basketweave design with Rockingham over glaze. The tile finish is in excellent condition for it\'s age and use as the tile is solid and has two minor chips on the textured front as shown (Photo #8) and a very OLD and small nick at the underside top ridge or edge (Photo #11).

The wood of course shows the normal wear and tear from water usage and even a worm hole hear and there. The wooden top board which normally held stenciled or stamped advertising is fully worn off.

Just a wonderful and rare primitive piece that only age can produce!

Measures approximately 23 3/8 inches by 12 3/8 inches and 1 7/8 inched deep at the top where the legs/arms are the deepest.

VERY HEAVY and LARGE piece!
