From my personal collection, a rare and Fabulous Early Pug Dog Candy Container. He is circa early 1900\'s, and although unmarked guaranteed to be German.He\'s made of the heavy early composition material and has great detail = from the wrinkles on his face, to his muscular body, his \'rolls\' and his Pug \'cork screw\' tail. And just look at that face! He has his original painted bow tie, and an original hole on the left side of his mouth which used to hold a cigar or pipe. His pipe or cigar is long gone. Note: The \'Smoking\' Pugs are very difficult to find.Condition: He is 100+ years old..! He has some flaking to his paint (see photos) and a chip under his right ear that is not noticeable unless you look at him from below. Note: his cardboard tube insert looks to be original - not sure = the cardboard tube insert is loose and comes out of his head. it may have had an old repair at one time, but i don\'t think so (the insert that is).NOTE: Thanks for your inquiries; Ive added another photo of the cardboard insert - it fits securely inside his head and after looking at it more closely it looks to be original. Also, it probably would be best if someone were to glue it back in - it looks like an easy fix and does not compromise how he displays. I was going to re-glue it but will leave that decision to his new owner. Im sure we all have had some candy containers with inserts that were re-glued over the years. I\'ve had him in my collection for about 15 years in a display cabinet and his condition has remained the same, no additional flaking of the paint, and he is untouched.
