Consists of two pages of recommendations, including one by Mrs (Lydia H. ) Sigourney, followed by essays on various books of the Bible, human nature, the divinity of Christ, the Trinity, Resurrection, etc, concluding with \"Substance of a Discourse Preached in the First Baptist Meeting House in Hartford, on the Fourth of July, 1835\" in which he essentially sees the United States as a specially chosen nation, far superior to ancient Israel, noting the quality and abundance of the wheat crop, extent of territory, literature, education of women, religion, and so forth.
