EXTREMELY ORNATE AND UNIQUE......QUITE RARE! Thislisting is for a beautiful, solid (very heavy) gilded brass, antique cigar stand. This stand is the rarer,brass;the majority of these were made of cast iron. The stand wasmanufactured by the Scroll Art Company from Bridgeport, Conn. (stamped)and is circa 1895to 1898. Quite extravagent, the stand features an ornate, Fleur de Lispattern on the base in the Arts and Crafts genre. It has a large center tray upon which rests a very detailed, Gothic designed dragon with exposed teeth. The dragon holds the large cigar holderwhich is also the ashtray cup. This large cup is removable forcleaning. This stand is very heavy brass (it does NOT accept a magnet) and the brass has been gilded. It is very weighty and is extemely sturdy. It is in very good condition with some minor aging to the patina particularly on the brass tray top. The aging does not affect the appearance of this spectacular piece. The stand is also marked \" Patent Applied For\" on the base as well. This is not a piece that is easily found and was not mass produced. It is grand in design andunsurpassed in quality and beauty.

The stand measures 23.5\" tall. The base is 10\" in diameter and the tray is 14.5\" in diameter. The removable cigar holder and ash cup is 5\" tall and 4\" in diameter. The stand is quite heavy and weighs 25 to 30 pounds.
