Here is a very rare antique Steiff Somersault Bear withearly and small trailing f button. This adorable mohair bear isin good antique played with condition and features boot button eyes, extremely long arms, large feet and workingmechanism. When the bears left arm is turned forward it will wind the mechanismand presumably cause ted to perform a somersault. We are not sure if he cancomplete the somersault as his long arms move slowly (and also get caught in his ears) and we do not wantto disturb him too much. At any rate this is a very special and rare to find Steiff bear. The original paw pads show much wear and one ear has beenre-stitched, there are loose threads to his nose as well as some loss of fur. Teddy measures about 11 inches.
