This scarceantiquesterlingthimble has a pattern of alternating daisy and waffle squares withdaisies on the top. It has the English silver hallmarksfor Chester 1900 and a stamp for Alfred Bromet & Co. They wereLondon jewelers but the thimble was made by Henry Griffith. The rim hasthe design registration number (Rd 171259) registered by Griffith in1891. This is one of the very few thimbles given a name by Griffith. Onone of his catalog pages it is labeled the \"Dorothy\". The name is noton the thimble. It is shown on p. 9 of British Registered DesignThimbles by Norma Spicer & Diane Pelham Burn.
Thecondition is excellent, crisp and in round with no holes, dents orother damage.Itis about an American size 8 (15 mm diameteropening).
