Each buyer is invited to use his/her judgment as to the probability of authenticity of the paintings - that is where the fun of collecting is. ** Attributed to Zhang Daqian, this landscape is typical of this artist\'s style in the late 40s, when he experimented with orange and green color combinations and simplified \'architectural\' landscape shapes, somewhat inspired by the work by Dong Qichang, the famous Ming Dynasty painter and theoretician. (See for example: \'Light Snow at Tongguan\' in Challenging the Past: The Paintings of Chang Dai-chien, by Shen C.Y. Fu and Jan Stuart, p. 158). The long inscription is an interesting example of Zhang Daqian\'s calligraphic style.
