• Personally dug by me in the early 1990s from a trash pit behind my house in New Orleans, Louisiana. My house dated back to the mid-1830s in the neighborhood approximate to St Joseph & Tchoupitoulas Streets.

• Circa 1840

• Made at the factory just north of Paris, France.

• Measures approx 3-9/16”H x 3-5/8”Diameter

• Original MINT condition with no damage or repairs.

• No chips, cracks, pinheads, flea bites or crazing.

• Beautiful blue glazing with hand applied fern / seaweed pattern.

• Applied handle

• Marked on bottom: “Creil et Monterau, L.M. & Cie., Porcel. Opaque”

• Perfect example of pearlware / mochaware from that time period

• I sold another mug from the same trash pit a few years ago here on for almost $800. That one featured a cable / earthworm design. It’s time for this one to find a new home.
