For sale is a rare ice pail / cache pot / flower pot made by Meissen in the 18th century. The mark was usually used in the 1760\'s but the colors don\'t fit that period as some are rather thick and the bottom has what appears to be a bossierer\'s mark as well so I am fairly certain this is one of the marks dating to the 1730\'s! The quality and theme is superb though I cannot find this shape in the books. It is nicely hand painted with scenes including birds sitting on branches with some greenery underneath, scattered bugs and nice handles highlighted with turquoise and gold trim. The birds are quite detailed and the enamel quite thick in places.The piece is in great condition with a bit of wear (mainly to the one bird) and one inside top rim chip as shown. Displays nicely! It is marked underneath with the blue crossed swords with the dots between the bottoms. The pot is 6 inches tall and 6.75 inches in diameter.
