Ahard to find early 1900\'s tipless light bulb in working condition. About 5 3/4\" long.

The original patent for this type of tipless construction was obtained by Herman J. Jaeger, Patent No. 729,182, dated May 26, 1903.

A tubewas inserted into the stem and a spotwas heated where the twomet which caused them to be welded together. While stillhot. airwas blown through the tube forming a hole.The exhaust tubecould thenbesealed off and covered by the base..........leaving a tipless lamp.

\"My invention has reference to incandescent electric lamps, and pertains particularly to anovel construction of tipless lamps which areexhausted from the bottom or base part orneck of the lamp. These lamps do not possessthe usual tip at the top of the globe or vacuum-chamber, and therefore do not castan undesirable shadow when the lamp is usednear the eyes of a person, the top of the globeor vacuum-chamber being entirely smooth.\"
